over the land - 2006
Paintings
of the Yorkshire Dales and in Cornwall leading to a short show in Morvah
have been inspired by the spring light over the land.
Colour has become stronger in this work, but I am most excited
by the different textures or lyrics in the landscape. A
painting brings together the landscape as an orchestration of
feelings, and for me that is more important than depicting
particular features or subjects.
